Bob Gates
I originally studied photography at the University of Iowa School of Art while completing my Ph.D. in English, after which I joined the English Department at Syracuse University. For many years I shot black and white film and developed in my basement. Other interests took me away from photography for a while, but for the past seven years I have been more fully engaged, first with digital color and now also again with black and white.
My photographs have won awards in regional and national contests, have appeared in group, individual, and juried exhibitions, and have been published internationally in such magazines as National Geographic Traveler, PhotoLife (Canada), MaVista (UK), The Photo Review, Photographic, Shutterbug, Outdoor Photographer, The Best of Photography Annual, f-stop, Life in the Finger Lakes, Martha’s Vineyard Magazine, and Popular Photography. |
